Nine ma­jor pro­duc­ers from the Arab world have joined forces with the award-win­ning mena. tv Con­tent Hub to cre­ate the first ever MENA pavil­ion at MIPCOM 2018. Lo­cated along­side the MIPCOM buy­ers’ club, the pavil­ion show­cases high-qual­ity orig­i­nal Arabic drama, doc­u­men­taries, lifestyle and kids’ ti­tles from ma­jor award­win­ning pro­duc­ers such as Cedars Art, Ea­gle Films, Rotana, Ro’ya and Abu Dhabi Me­dia.

“There have been ex­po­nen­tial ad­vances in qual­ity from the re­gion re­cently”, com­mented Heba Ko­rayem, Client Di­rec­tor, mena.tv Con­tent Hub. “Script de­vel­op­ment and pro­duc­tion val­ues have come into in line with in­ter­na­tional stan­dards, and we are now see­ing a trend to­wards Arabic pro­duc­tions be­ing made avail­able in sev­eral lan­guages”

Women lead­ers from the re­gion were part of an in­sight­ful MENA panel ti­tled “What do MENA Buy­ers Want?” The dis­cus­sion was mod­er­ated by mena.tv CEO Nick Grande, fea­tur­ing an all-ladies panel rep­re­sent­ing some of the lead­ing MENA broad­cast­ers/ OTT plat­forms.

For the first time on an in­ter­na­tional stage, se­nior ex­ec­u­tives shared their pro­gram­ming need and of­fered in­sights and ad­vice to in­ter­na­tional pro­duc­ers and dis­trib­u­tors on how to suc­ceed in the re­gion. Zee En­ter­tain­ment’s Na­dine Samra, Lina Matta from MBC Group, Marie-Aurélie Bon­net-Du­peux of Fox Net­works Group Mid­dle East, Zeinab Abu Al­samh, of Saudi Broad­cast­ing Au­thor­ity made up the em­i­nent panel of me­dia buy­ers from the MENA re­gion.
