LATIFA AKHARBACH AP­POINTED PRES­I­DENT OF MOROCCO’S HIGH AU­THOR­ITY OF AV COM­MU­NI­CA­TION UBMS COM­PLETES CITRUSS TV STU­DIO IN­STAL­LA­TION

Morocco’s King Mo­hammed VI has ap­pointed Latifa Akharbach as the new pres­i­dent of the High Au­thor­ity of Au­dio­vi­sual Com­mu­ni­ca­tion (HACA). Akharbach re­places Amina Lam­rini El Oua­habi.

The HACA is re­spon­si­ble for all au­dio­vi­sual com­mu­ni­ca­tion ser­vices in the coun­try in­clud­ing the grant­ing of li­censes for AV as well as the al­lo­ca­tion of ra­dio fre­quen­cies for broad­cast pro­grammes.

Akharbach is a Mo­roc­can diplo­mat and jour­nal­ist. She pre­vi­ously served as Morocco’s am­bas­sador to Tu­nisia, prior to which she was sec­re­tary of state for for­eign af­fairs. She also served as head of the Higher In­sti­tute of In­for­ma­tion and Com­mu­ni­ca­tion (ISIC) for 20 years, and was co- CEO of the sta­te­owned ra­dio chan­nel SNRT.
