CINÉPOLIS INVESTS $300 MILLION IN SAUDI ARABIA

63 screens in six new locations coming up soon

The world’s fourth-largest exhibition circuit, Cinépolis, has announced the locations of six new movie theatres in Saudi Arabia. To be rolled out across the Kingdom over the next two years, the first is due to open in Lulu Mall, Dammam, at the end of this year, four are scheduled for 2020 and the sixth for 2021. The new openings will be located in Lulu Mall in Dammam, Al Hokair Time in Jazan, Obhour Mall in Jeddah, Cordoba Mall in Riyadh, Najran City Center and Al Massarh Mall, with a total of 63 screens across all six locations.

Cinépolis partnered with the Al Hokair Group for expansion into KSA along with its regional partner, Al Tayer Group, in August 2018.

Cinépolis plans to introduce theatre concepts such as Junior theatres for families, with colourful interiors and bean-bag seating. Luxury auditorium­s will include 180° leather reclining seats with maitre d’ call buttons. Macro XE auditorium­s also provide Dolby Atmos sound for a powerful audio experience, with the screen being triple the size of an ordinary cinema screen.
