This beautiful of ce chair is also a talking point. Mid-century modern design maestro Norman Cherner submitted the design only to be told by his manufacturer that it had been scrapped. Years later, having seen it in Norman Rockwell’s 1961 painting TheArtistAt Work, Norman sued the chair’s maker for royalties. Thirty years of litigation later, the chair’s patent returned to Cherner’s sons, who now produce them as their father originally intended.
