Add an edge to your seats
It would be easier to point out things that Paul Smith’s signature stripes don’t go with – and now you can sit on them as well as wear them. The British fashion designer’s latest collaboration is with textile company Maharam and Danish furniture firm Carl Hansen & Søn, who make pieces inspired by legendary Danish designer Hans J Wegner. You probably wouldn’t be able to spot a Wegner piece if you saw one, but you’ve mostly likely perched your rear on furniture inspired by him. His most famous design is the Peacock hair, created back in 1947, , and it’s a style that’s been imitated by carpenters all over the globe ever since. Carl Hansen & Søn also take their inspiration from Wegner’s work, and Paul Smith’s signature stripes are a natural partner for this furniture line’s sleek, minimalist, Scandinavian influenced wooden curves.
