Rowing machine featured in TV’s House Of Cards
What’s the best way to guarantee your product reaches a global audience? Lend it to one of the most popular shows on TV. That’s what the makers of the WaterRower did, but they didn’t just choose any old series, they chose a Grammyaward winning show, no less: House Of Cards. A few strokes of frantic rowing later from the show’s congressman Frank Underwood, played by Kevin Spacey, and business is booming for the makers of the WaterRower.
Now, this unique take on one of the more traditional pieces of gym kit has reached Dubai. So what’s all the fuss about? Unlike a conventional rowing machine, which uses air for resistance, the WaterRower uses water to test your stamina and create a more realistic rowing experience. In a nutshell, the harder you row, the more resistance you face from the water. And instead of rowing to a ticking clock on the little electronic screen in front of your nose, there’s a Lycra-clad instructor at the front of the class giving orders while an uptempo playlist plays in the background.
The WaterRower is made from solid ash (for its ability to absorb sound and vibrations) with a honey oak stain, and nished in Danish oil, along with dual rails so you’ve got no chance of falling off halfway through a workout.
The model above can be ordered via Swiesner Trading in Dubai for Dhs,6490.
