LIV AND PA L E O LET LIVE AND BEYOND THE LATEST CRAZES, NUTRITIONAL PLANS, PRODUCTS AND REGIMES TO GET YOU LEAN, MEAN AND FIGHTING FIT

- Words: Lyndsey Steven

While there's been an upsurge of men in tight clothes on our roads, the female of the species has been slow to catch up. Not so anymore with Liv, the only dedicated female cycling brand in the Middle East.

A welcome addition to the UAE cycling scheme founded by Bonnie Tu, the “grandmother of cycling”, Liv, a bike shop run by women for women, has a store in Al Wasl Boxpark, Dubai and a new dedicated corner at Ride Bike Shop in Al Seef Village Mall, Abu Dhabi. Both are aimed at creating a less intimidating environment for female cyclists while also arming them with invaluable skills, like how to change an inner tube and other technical tips. With the weather threatening to improve any day now, it's time to saddle up. Visit liv-cycling.com You don't have to be a cycling enthusiast to dine at Cycle Bistro, a paleo café tucked inside a bike shop by Dubai Autodrome, but the breakfast menu is so good we'd happily don lycra and a helmet if it were a requirement. Caveman dieters will love the “courgetti” and the paleolithic pancakes, but it's the sweet potato hash we make the trip to Motor City for. Visit thecyclehub.com, (04) 4256555.
