- WORDS: SARAH JOSEPH

What do the first 30 mins of your day look like to set you up for success?

Mornings are precious to me, it is where most of the fresh ideas come to mind. Every morning, you have to choose what your day will look like. Having a positive day is a choice, a beautiful day is not a perfect one. It’s being aware that difficulties may come at any time but also having a mindset that I just have to do things in a different way to overcome it.

What is at the heart of The Bunch Box’s DNA as a brand?

Flowers are something that naturally bring happiness and joy to people and this is something that The Bunch Box aims to achieve. We want this emotion to overflow in every home through the bunches we offer.

What inspired you to enter the floral industry?

When I was young, my parents used to take us to Europe and I was always amazed and inspired by all the flowers, greenery and nature. This created a dream for me to bring this to our country.

Last year was a challenge. How did you adapt and pivot as a business?

Last year was a global turning point for every business, it made us look at things from a different perspective and to approach things in a unique way. I think resilience, hard work and creativity make or break a business. It is about being able to see opportunities despite the difficulties by looking at the positive side of things. After all every problem is an opportunity in disguise.

Do you have any mentors or guides and how does this help navigate the right path?

My father told me that there is no grey area or shortcut to success, you have to work hard for it. My mother also instilled in me to approach everything you do with excellence, so in everything I do, I give my heart and soul. This is the core value of our company, we do things in excellence and we give our best to all that we touch.

How can you get the most out of your flowers in terms of longevity?

Flowers are delicate by nature and you really have to know how to take care of them, that’s why it’s very important for us to educate our clients on how to make their flowers last. Inside each box from The Bunch Box is a care guide. Water has to be changed every two days and withered leaves have to be removed as these create bacteria that lessens the lifespan of cut flowers. Also, don’t forget to add your flower food, which we also provide for each order.

You focus on a modern aesthetic, where do you take inspiration from?

We take inspiration from everything. Our creativity is not limited to the flower industry alone. We take inspiration from the latest trends, architecture and art as well as keeping in mind the modern, clean aesthetic so many of our clients shopping online are looking for.

What does the roadmap in terms of growth look like for 2021?

We aim for more brand collaborations with partners who share our ideals in terms of service, creativity and beauty.

How has social media help build the brand?

Social media has had a huge impact in reaching a wider market. This is where we communicate to our clients directly and this is where we come to understand their needs.

What arrangements can you not go wrong with?

Bunches! A single bunch of flowers can go a long way. The Bunch Box has built a loyal client base because of this simplicity and elegance.

This issue is ‘The Love Issue’ – what is love to you?

Everything starts with love and love should be in everything. It starts by loving yourself, your family, what you do, what you give to everyone in every way. If you do something with love, it comes back to you.

“If you do something with love, it comes back to you.”
