New collection keeps BREITLING in top spot
Breitling’s revamped Premier collection is history done right
IT’S AN IRONY of the watch business that it is not known for its speed. Developments out of Switzerland take forever. Yet Breitling’s achievements over the last 12 months have been remarkable. It has a new identity (digitally and in-store), a new “squad” of ambassadors and a fresh, specialised line of products. It’s probably fair to say everything thus far has been leading here: the Breitling Premier collection.
First launched in 1943, its emphasis on urbane elegance took a back seat to the brand’s rugged tool watches. Now it’s back in a new collection in day-date, chronograph and time-only formats, at wallet-friendly prices. One of our highlights of the year, it’s tantalising to think where Breitling might get to in 2019. Wherever that may be, it won’t be hanging about.
