The big bold logo print isn’t going anywhere

IT’S FUNNY HOW THINGS CHANGE. We used to write our names on things we owned to identify them as ours, now we tend to have other people’s names on things we own so that we can identify as a particular type of person. The tactic of slapping on a big, bold logo print has been a focus of French fashion house Celine, since it modernised its branding under the creative guise of Hedi Slimane—and, let’s be honest, it is helping reestablish the preeminence of the brand in the men’s market. It’s clear to see that if you’re going to have someone else’s name on a large messenger strap bag, Celine is a good name to go for.
