Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi has collaborated with Tesla and installed two state-of-the-art charging stations in its basement parking area. Each Tesla connector is equipped with a power output of up to 13KW.

The complimentary facility is available to hotel resident guests. Desmond Hatton, general manager, Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi said: “The new green initiative with Tesla aims at reducing our carbon footprint.

“It’s just a small drop in the ocean but it sets the tone for the industry to innovate and adopt environment friendly measures. It is encouraging to see that number of guests using this facility has increased since installation of charging points.”

Dusit Thani joins a handful of hotels in the UAE that’s making a push towards adding EV charging stations at its facilities. In February this year, Green Parking tied up with hotels and resorts at key locations in the UAE and Oman, including Danat Al Ain Resort, which is the only charging point between Abu Dhabi and Sohar.

Although not a Tesla-spec connector, Green Parking installed more than 200 electric vehicle (EV) charging points the UAE and Oman, indicating the growing demand from the public for EV chargers.

The Abu Dhabi hotel has installed two Tesla chargers in the car park.
