Uni­ver­sal Voltas been grow­ing its mar­ket share in the re­gional FM space — es­pe­cially in the hard ser­vices main­te­nance. In the UAE, the firm’s ad­vanced im­ple­men­ta­tion of its ro­bust CAFM EAM so­lu­tion forms the back-bone of its FM op­er­a­tions de­liv­ery. At a panel dis­cus­sion dur­ing the FM Expo, Uni­ver­sal Voltas gen­eral man­ager Dilip Ku­mar spoke about the im­por­tance of data and how it’s suc­cess­fully man­aged to lever­age ef­fi­cien­cies for its clients. He said: “We use our CAFM sys­tem in con­junc­tion with our client, so we re­ceive com­plaints and close them to­gether. But be­yond we ad­dressed the dis­con­nect be­tween our ERP sys­tems and CAFM process. Sim­i­larly, on the client’s side there are dif­fer­ent sys­tems which might not com­mu­ni­cate with the CAFM sys­tem. We have gone dig­i­tal in pock­ets, but we have looked at in­te­grat­ing all the data.”
