Transguard Group has announced the construction of new accommodation for 2,708 employees in Dubai South close to Jebel Ali port. Due to be completed in Q4 2019. The $31mn (AED114mn) project will feature a dedicated medical clinic, barber’s shop, fully equipped gym, laundry facilities, and multicuisine dining area. The G+4 building will also house a prayer hall, bike storage, recycling and ATM banking facilities.
This new facility is the second construction project of its kind for Transguard; the company broke ground on its first dedicated accommodation in 2017 with a G+7 facility in Jebel Ali that, when complete, will house nearly 10,000 staff members and include the same amenities as the G+4 accommodation.
Greg Ward, managing director, Transguard Group said: “Our employees have always been our number one asset. This new development further underscores our commitment to offering the best living conditions available, which have been enhanced by our investment in recreational facilities. This provides our employees with an environment where they can rest, relax and feel at home, ultimately creating a happier and healthier workforce,” said.
Both buildings will be built in accordance to UAE’s Green Building compliance standards with LED lighting and solar panel water heating, as well as grey water recycling at the facility.
Another corporate initiative that Transguard is rolling out across its entire workforce is its welfare provision: The company has already invested more than five million dirhams in onsite healthcare centres catering for 20,000 employees, offering immediate access to quality medical facilities.
Transguard Group CEO Dr. Abdulla Al Hashimi and managing director Greg Ward (R to L) were recently joined by a selection of representatives from each of the company’s business units to review the G+4 project in Jebel Ali.
