With many players competing in the region, including a plethora of marketplace content aggregators in the e-commerce grocery space, Danube Online was a first mover in the region’s end-to-end e-commerce grocery platform space. Now live across eight cities in Saudi Arabia and on track to reach three million active users by the end of 2019, the award-winning e-commerce platform is comprised of the Danube App and the desktop platform, hosted on danube.sa.

Danube Online is an “inventory model” of ecommerce (think Alibaba versus Amazon, which is a marketplace model). This means Danube Online manages every aspect of its online grocery business from stock, interaction with customers, quality control of products, logistics and staff training, etc. The benefit of this model is that the online platform is solely responsible for the quality of products and service of delivery.
