Donna Ben­ton is best known for start­ing dis­count voucher app, the En­ter­tainer, which pro­vides buy-one-get-one free in­cen­tives and is cur­rently avail­able in 15 coun­tries across the Mid­dle East, Africa, Asia and Europe, in­clud­ing Saudi Ara­bia, Greece, Malaysia and Hong Kong. Last year, Bahrain-based in­vest­ment firm GFH Fi­nan­cial Group bought Abraaj’s 50% stake in the En­ter­tainer and an ad­di­tional 35% from Ben­ton at a $150 mil­lion val­u­a­tion. Then, in July, U.A.E.-based con­glom­er­ate AlFut­taim and Al Za­rooni Emi­rates In­vest­ments ac­quired mi­nor­ity stakes in the En­ter­tainer from GFH. The En­ter­tainer has over 10,000 mer­chant part­ners and more than 10 mil­lion down­loads.
