Ghi­zlan Guenez built the first global on­line des­ti­na­tion for mod­est lux­ury fash­ion, The Modist. In just two years the brand has be­come home to 130 of the world’s lead­ing ready-to-wear and ac­ces­sories brands in­clud­ing Mary Ka­trant­zou, and lead­ing Arab de­sign­ers in­clud­ing Mai­son Rabih Kay­rouz and Bouguessa. With of­fices in Lon­don and Dubai, The Modist ships to over 120 coun­tries. In March 2018, the brand re­ceived strate­gic in­vest­ments from a group of in­vestors in­clud­ing Annabel Hold­ings, the pri­vate eq­uity arm of the Bul­gari fam­ily, along­side Far­fetch and the Chal­houb Group. Guenez had a multi-cul­tural up­bring­ing and grew up in Al­giers, Beirut and Lon­don be­fore set­tling in Dubai.
