Supermodel Kar­lie Kloss ven­tured into the tech ed­u­ca­tion space af­ter she be­gan un­der­tak­ing her own cod­ing classes. The 27-year launched the Kode With Klossy pro­gram in 2015, which hosts free, two-week sum­mer cod­ing camps for girls aged 13 to 18 years old with an aim to make them con­fi­dent to pur­sue their pas­sion in the tech in­dus­try. To­day, 87% of the pro­gram's alumna have re­port­edly be­come more con­fi­dent in pur­su­ing com­puter science or other STEM-re­lated ex­pe­ri­ences and op­por­tu­ni­ties, with 100% of camps led by fe­male in­struc­tor role mod­els. In the past three years, the cod­ing camps have served over 500 women across the U.S. and awarded 1,000 schol­ar­ships.
