TOURISM AND ENTERTAINMENT

Tourism is one of the main sectors that the kingdom is eyeing as a prospective revenue generator and a vital part of its Vision 2030.

With the aim of securing a 70:30 ratio of non-religious to religious foreign visitors by 2030, the kingdom has developed a tourism plan that is focused on leisure and relaxation. The plan hinges around developing beaches along the Red Sea where most of the new mega projects are located. The other focus has been to exploit the country’s cultural heritage as well as diverse geography. The country is in the process of doubling the list of heritage sites it has registered with UNESCO.
