WILL I LOSE WEIGHT IF I FAST?
AI’ve been told that fasting is good way to lose excess fat. Is it a good idea?
If your intention is weight loss, then it is a bad idea. Reason? You are not going to be able to keep the weight off. It is impossible to stay on a fast constantly. It gets very frustrating when done for long periods.
Fasting often or every now and then is a great idea. It works like deep-cleaning for your brain. It takes your body into ketosis and this can really help with keeping you looking younger and reversing metabolic issues.
Fasting also helps improve the process of myelination in the brain which helps neurons send and receive signals efficiently. Fasting also helps reduce inflammation. When you fast, your mitochondria – the body’s tiny power houses that produce energy – get completely starved. This process helps to make your body stronger because the weak and old mitochondria can’t survive this process and die to make way for new and stronger mitochondria. When you build strong mitochondria, you have more energy to use, you feel alive and present plus you feel and look a lot younger.
If you are going to fast one day in the week but not eat clean the rest of the week consider this a complete waste of your time and effort. Fasting of any kind, if done for health benefits, does not give you a ticket to eat all the junk you want – a practice most fans of intermittent fasting follow.
