EYES CAN REVEAL YOUR STRESS LEVELS
Eyes can indicate how stressed you are, a new study published in the International Journal of Human-Computer Interaction states. The pupil of the eye reveals the mental workload of a person during multitasking. Scientists found the size of the pupils change erratically when a person does multitasking and faces unexpected changes. These findings can become a tool that employers can use to monitor how their staffs are coping with the stressful environment in hospitals, offices and factories, etc., before they become overwhelmed.
The University of Missouri, Columbia, studied how stress affects a person’s state of mind. Previously, studies emphasised on how a high workload affects the body, such as by causing back problems. The researchers believe these findings will offer better insight into how systems should be designed to avoid mentally overloading workers and build a safer working environment.
