WHAT WOMEN NEED TO LOOK OUT FOR
The earlier metastatic breast cancer is spotted, the more effective treatment might be. Symptoms of relapse may include:
Cough and shortness of breath
Bone or joint pain, especially in the shoulder, hip or back that is worse at night and doesn’t get better over time with painkillers
Headaches or dizziness
Tummy pain and sickness
If you are concerned by any new symptom that has lasted more than three to four weeks and hasn’t responded to rest or painkillers, call your GP and say: “I think my cancer has come back.” This should mean you will be referred to a breast clinic.
