Q Of late, there is some talk about people going a bit easy on spending on marriages. According to some, the pandemic has made them take a fresh look at spending on various things, including on marriages. What is your view?

A I must say that I’ve seen quite the opposite in my experience. Couples say that they have a deeper appreciation of what is essential, especially with respect to how they celebrate with family and friends. And with marriages being one of the finer occassions that can help bring together families in a celebratory and joyous mood, they are open to spending if it means having a fun and enjoyable time particularly in a destination that offers all amenities and comforts.

For many, a new and fearless spirit has energized them to break with wedding traditions and transform the way they want to marry. We believe that the wedding business may not have been ‘Pandemic Proof ’ but there are couples who will get married, and they most definitely want to rejoice with their loved ones and in the most joyous way not allowing anything to come in the way of celebrations.

We are in fact finding many families becoming much more adventurous in their search of a preferred destination or property to host the wedding celebrations. This is because there has been an upswing in the number of deals and offers that the hospitality and tourism sector are extending. Resort properties or hotel venues are offering unparalleled deals and offers to families to attract the wedding celebrations into their space, and families who are seeking novel and fascinating wedding venues, are now being spoilt for choice.
