Le maison de masson

Whether it’s shopping for our own little ones or presents for friends, we’re always on the hunt for gorgeous gifts for kids. it’s a search that led dubai-based mum Ayla Masson to open her own online boutique, la Maison de Masson.

“i am a huge lover of independent, unique and well-crafted products. There is nothing better than finding a beautiful item in a little shop on a tiny street in europe that you know no one else will have,” says Ayla. “When i became a mother, i wanted to give these types of things to my daughter, but as most of them were sold overseas, i was spending a lot of time and money shipping them into the UAE.”

Ayla now seeks out pieces from around the world for her store, such as little dreams baby blankets from denmark, toy sacks made of recycled paper from Sweden, and Uae-themed shoes from South Africa. “When we source our products, we look for the ‘three S’s’: stylish, sustainable and a small business,” Ayla explains.

it’s an ethos that extends to la Maison de Masson’s own line of lex & fox teething toys. “They are made right here in the UAE with completely sustainable and organic products, from the wood used to the organic beeswax they are hand-polished with,” says Ayla.
