Former military chief Alardhi enjoyed some eye-catching deals with Bahrain-based Investcorp during 2016 – most notably an agreement to purchase 3i’s debt management business in October, adding $12bn to its assets under management. The executive chairman is also a published author – most recently with his book Arabs Unseen, which tells the journeys of 10 people from the modern Arab world who overcame various challenges to find success in their fields. A popular figure on speaking panels, his expertise across numerous sectors is highlighted by his presence on boards as diverse as National Bank of Oman, Rimal Investments Projects and Al Ardhi Energy Services.
