Pagarani founded Al Maya Group in Dubai in 1982 after several successful years opening wholesale and retail outlets in Hong Kong and the UK. Today the company is one of the UAE’s most well recognised supermarket brands and has more than 90 stores across the Gulf region as well as locations in India and the UK. It has also diversified into distribution, processing and franchise operations through deals with Borders and Paperchase. Recently Al Maya has turned its eye to the future with work underway on a new 861,000sqft office and warehouse facility at Dubai’s Technopark.
