Ooredoo Group which has a consolidated customer base of over 121 million subscribers, saw a few blockbuster deals in 2021, including the $6bn merger with CKK Hutchinson in Indonesia and a $750m telecommunication tower deal with Edge Point Indonesia. Playing an instrumental role in Ooredoo’s dealmaking was none other than Fakhroo, who was previously co-head of mergers and acquisitions at the Qatar Investment Authority and the former deputy undersecretary for Budget, Treasury and Financial Affairs at the Ministry of Finance.
Apart from Ooredoo, he is currently on the board of Accor and Qatar Museums, as well as having been recently appointed to the board of Katara Hospitality.
