Apart from his role at Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), he is also a board member of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy and the Dubai International Financial Centre Authority, as well as the vice chairman of Dubal Holding.
Last year proved to be a breakout year for EGA which recorded a net profit of Dhs5.5bn, up a staggering 1,140 per cent over the previous year. Beyond the production of aluminium, EGA is also focusing on recycling it. This year, it revealed plans to build its first aluminium recycling facility which will be capable of handling 150,000 tonnes a year, making it the largest unit of its kind in the UAE.
