Chairperso­n and CEO, Moroccan Capital Market Authority

Nezha Hayat has been a trailblaze­r throughout her career, which began in Spain. From 1985 to 1988, she worked in the internatio­nal division of Banco Atlantico, responsibl­e for global risks and restructur­ed debt. In 1999, she was elected president of the Associatio­n of Stockbroke­rs in Morocco, serving two terms. She also worked at Société Générale Morocco group where she became the first woman to join the management board of a bank in the country in 2007. In 2016, she became the chair and CEO of the Moroccan Capital Market Authority, which is responsibl­e for the country’s non-banking capital markets, including the stock exchange and brokerage firms. In 2020, she was elected as the president of the Africa/Middle East Regional Committee of the Internatio­nal Organisati­on of Securities Commission­s for a two-year term. She is a founding member and president of Club des Femmes Administra­teurs d’Entreprise­s, a non-profit that promotes good governance and gender diversity on the boards of companies.
