Pullout from Kashmir not possible now, says army

-

With “Pakistan still supporting terrorists and running training camps”, the Indian Army thinks demilitarisation in Jammu and Kashmir was not the “right option” at this time.

The general-officer-commanding in chief (GOC in C) of the army's Northern Command, Lieutenant General H.S. Panag, told newspersons in Reasi yesterday: “Professionally speaking, demilitarisation is not the right option at this time and it is not possible.”

He said it was a crucial period for the state as infiltration of militants from Pakistan was still on.
