Rising wages may impact exports

-

India’s software services exports are expected to have risen 33 per cent to $31.3 billion in 2006-07, and are targeted to hit $60 billion by 2010 as firms such as TCS and Infosys take advantage of lowcost labour to grab global outsourcing.

But rising salaries are a concern. Wages in India are rising by about 12-15 per cent a year, compared with 2-6 per cent in the West, as companies try to retain ambitious staff.
