Al Ittihad stay ahead with big win

Al Ittihad maintained their top position in the Second Division Football League after crushing Masafi 6-0 at the Kalba stadium on the eastern coast.

Al Ittihad are currently on top with 57 points, four ahead of second-placed Al Dhafra who beat Al Jazira Al Hamra 4-1 at the latter’s ground in RAK. Al Ittihad need to win three of their remaining five matches to win promotion to top flight.

Ajman, who are in third place with 51 points, beat Masafi 3-0 to revive their promotion hopes.

Al Khaleej lost all hopes of earning a promotion after they suffered a 3-1 loss too Hatta. The win lifted Hatta to the fourth place with 50 points, while Al Khaleej dropped to the fifth with 46 points.

Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) scored a morale-boosting 3-1 win over Diba Al Hesn. Bani Yas were held to a 1-1 draw by Al Hamriya. Diba Fujairah beat Al Arabi 3-2, while Al Oroba beat Al Rams 4-1.
