Man gets three-year jail for raping schoolboy

He sodomised teenager 20 times over 40 days

Dubai An man was s entenced to t hree years i n jail for raping a 14-yearold s choolboy 20 t i mes over 40 days and threatening to inform his mother if he spurned his sexual advances.

The Dubai Court of First Instance convicted the 26year-old Emirati employee of repeatedly sodomising the Emirati teenager.

“The accused, M.A., will be jailed for three years,” said Presiding Judge Hamad Abdul Latif Abdul Jawad as he pronounced Thursday’s verdict.

Prosecutors accused M.A. of repeatedly sodomising the boy and threatening to beat his victim up.

He was al so accused of sending text messages threatening to inform the boy’s mother of their supposed ‘relationship’.

When the defendant appeared in court, he pleaded not guilty and alleged t hat he had consensual sex with the teenager.

M. A. was also charged wi t h a b u s i n g t h e t e l - ecommunication system ( mobile phone services) by t hreatening t he boy through text messages.

The schoolboy testif ied t hat he got a cquainted with t he defendant over the phone.

“When s he asked him about his relationship to our s on, t he defendant said he was a l i eutenant. My son told us t hat t he a ccused ra ped hi m t en times,” the father said.

A Yemeni f irst corporal testif ied that the boy confessed to him t hat M. A. used to rape him behind the mall.

Prosecution records said t he boy and his mother identif ied M.A. in a police lineup after he was summoned t o Al Rashidiya Police Station.

The primary j udgment remains subject to appeal within 15 days.
