DOCTORS RULE OUT INJURY SIGNS AFTER POST-MORTEM IS CONDUCTED

-

Fiza Mohammad aka Anuradha Bali, who was found dead under mysterious circumstances at her house, was yesterday cremated as per Hindu rites by her relatives. Fiza had married former Haryana deputy chief minister Chander Mohan but was later divorced. She was found dead on Monday in Mohali near here.

Earlier, doctors at a government hospital at Mohali conducted post-mortem of her highly decomposed body and said there were no signs of any external injury.

“Her viscera has been sent for examination to know the exact cause of her death,” a doctor said in Mohali, 10km from here. Fiza was cremated at the Sector 25 crematorium here yesterday as per Hindu rites.

The body was found in a decomposed state. Police said she could have died four to five days back. Maggots and other insects had eaten away portions of her body, including her face.

The Mohali

police,

which is investigating her mysterious death, said that all angles, including suicide, murder and death by consuming something accidentally, were being investigated.

“We will wait for the postmortem and viscera report. Our investigations are on,” Mohali district police chief Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said.

Anuradha Bali, who married Mohan in 2009 and was later divorced, had remained controversial. She went missing in November 2008 with Mohan. They reappeared in early December 2008 as a married couple after embracing Islam. Following the controversy over his affair and second marriage, Mohan, elder son of Haryana chief minister Bhajan Lal, lost his job in the Bhupinder Singh Hooda government.

The marriage lasted hardly 40 days, with Mohan suddenly leaving her house January 28, 2009. After, he did not communicate with her at all.

Fiza led a high-profile life and was close to politicians and influential people in Chandigarh.
