Khalifa and Mohammad discuss summit outcome
PRESIDENT RECEIVES SPEAKER OF KUWAIT ASSEMBLY
President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan yesterday received His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice- President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, at Al Rawda Palace in Al Ain.
During the meeting, Shaikh Khalifa was briefed by Shaikh Mohammad on the results of the third Arab Social and Economic Development Summit that was recently held in Riyadh.
Later Shaikh Khalifa, in the presence of Shaikh Mohammad, separately received Oraz Murad Qurban, Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to the UAE, and Ali Fahd Al Rashid, Speaker of the Kuwaiti National Assembly.
Qurban delivered to Shaikh Khalifa a letter from Turkmenistan’s President Kurbanguly Berdymukhamedov.
The letter included an invitation for Shaikh Khalifa to visit Turkmenistan. Shaikh Khalifa accepted the invitation, with the date for his visit to be decided later.
In the meeting with Ali, Shaikh Khalifa stressed the strength of brotherly relations between the UAE and Kuwait. Ali congratulated the president on the UAE national football team’s victory in the 21st Gulf Cup and praised the depth of bilateral relations between the UAE and Kuwait.
Meanwhile, General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, yesterday received Ali Fahd Al Rashid, Speaker of Kuwait’s Parliament ( Ummah Council), and his delegation.
Shaikh Mohammad welcomed Al Rashid, who is on a three- day official visit to the UAE.
