Cooper to tee off in challenge match

US shock rocker Alice Cooper will tee- up in the nine- hole Omega Dubai Desert Classic Challenge match at Jebel Ali Golf Resort from 3pm today.

Cooper, who plays off scratch handicap, will be paired with fellow American and twotime major winner Mark O’Meara while former world number one Lee Westwood will team- up with defending champion Rafael Cabrera- Bello during the greensomes match.

All with have an eye on a $ 1 million [ Dh3.7 million] prize when they play the par three holes.

$ 1 million prize

The first player, who achieves the hole- inone feat on the 160yard, second, will receive $ 500,000 and, likewise, $ 500,000 will be presented to the first player who aces the 177yard, eighth.

If the prize money goes begging on the second hole, it will be doubled to $ 1 million on the eighth hole.
