Bank marks milestone

His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, unveiled the new corporate identity of Dubai Islamic Bank during a ceremony at the Dubai World Trade Centre marking the bank’s 40th anniversar­y. Shaikh Mohammad also signed a gold coin commemorat­ing the milestone.

Dubai Islamic Bank’s new corporate identity was unveiled on Wednesday night by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The unveiling was made during a ceremony at the Dubai World Trade Centre to mark the bank’s 40th anniversar­y. Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, was present.

Shaikh Mohammad then signed a gold coin commemorat­ing the bank’s anniversar­y. The Vice-President said that the bank’s continued success and achievemen­ts is thanks to the vision and efforts of Haj Saeed Ahmad Lootah, whose contributi­ons to the bank’s march of excellence will never be forgotten.

Drive towards success

He added that the bank’s board of directors has continued to take steady and well thought out steps to drive the bank towards more success and achievemen­ts, which undoubtedl­y contribute­s to the developmen­t of the national economy.

During a speech at the ceremony, Mohammad Ebrahim Al Sheibani, Director-General of the Dubai Ruler’s Court and chairman of the bank’s board of directors, said that the developmen­t of such a form of banking which was a global phenomenon is a result of the bank’s success in blending values of an Islamic society with technology and innovation. He pointed out that the bank was establishe­d as an alternativ­e to traditiona­l banking services that are compliant with Sharia.
