Dubai Canvas Festival at JBR from March 1

Brand Dubai and Meraas Holdings tie up for first session of event

Brand Dubai, a subsidiary of the Government of Dubai Media Office, has tied up with Dubai-based holding company Meraas to organise the first session of Dubai Canvas Festival expected to kick off at The Beach opposite Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) from March 1-7.

Brand Dubai has chosen The Beach for the global event since the location is a major attraction and has superb waterfront in addition to modern public facilities and services. The first of its kind event in the UAE will offer visitors a chance to enjoy an open art gallery and get a rare opportunit­y to meet the world’s best 3D artists.

Fahad Kazim, Chief Commercial Officer at Meraas said: “We are glad to work with the Government of Dubai Media Office through its innovation arm, Brand Dubai. We have followed similar ethos when designing The Beach, which has today become one of Dubai’s major attraction­s welcoming thousands of visitors every day.”

DGMO’s Director of Communicat­ions and Innovation Noura Al Abbar said: “Dubai Canvas celebrates innovation and introduces a new artistic school that has not been explored regionally on such level.”

In addition to 3D works of renowned artists, there are specialise­d workshops, a lecture by founding father of 3D pavement art Kurt Wenner and a kids-dedicated corner.

The festival is open from 4-10pm weekdays and throughout the day weekends.
