ERA app to enhance racing experience

Self-contained software will offer detailed informatio­n on the sport in the UAE

The Emirates Racing Authority (ERA) has launched an innovative ERA App for smartphone users that allows racing fans to experience the thrills of racing almost instantly during the 2015-2016 racing season.

Set up specifical­ly to provide comprehens­ive informatio­n on the sport, the free-todownload app is available for both iOS and Adroid users.

Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidenti­al Affairs and Chairman of the Emirates Racing Authority (ERA), officially launched the app, which can be downloaded from the ERA website, http:// emiratesra­cing.com/era-app.

Fans can also download the app from Apple App Store for iPhone users, or Google Play Store for Android users.

The app has been developed by the ERA’s IT team in a user-friendly format enabling fans to keep abreast of racing action across the UAE.

Users will now be able to follow up entries, declaratio­ns, results, and statistics for runners, owners, trainers and jockeys for the ongoing racing season at Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club, Meydan Racecourse, Al Ain Racecourse, Jebel Ali Racecourse and Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club.

Shaikh Mansour said: “In keeping with the direction of our wise leadership to adopt the Smart Government drive, we have created a brilliant method to keep racing enthusiast­s close to the racing events of the season.

“It is great to see this one of the oldest sports worldwide linked with cutting-edge technologi­es enabling racing fans to follow races through their smartphone­s and devices.”
