Al Badia Picnic Brunch is one for the whole family
This is the season to take it all outside, especially if it’s a brunch. To take advantage of the amazing weather, Al Badia Golf Club in Dubai, managed by the InterContinental, has brought back its Picnic Brunch this autumn.
Available on both Fridays and Saturdays, this one’s laid out on the lush lawn of the golf club with amazing views of the golf course and the waterfall.
You get a nice, really comfortable padded mat with an umbrella and low table where your picnic basket is brought.
Inside the basket you get a baguette, a selection of salads and a packet of vegetable chips.
After you’ve picked your choice of brunch package — soft beverages, house beverages or bubbly — you’re good to head to the barbecue and smoking stations. These are two main stations where you have your pick of all kinds of meats — and I mean all kinds. Think beef brisket, ribs, lamb shoulder and grilled chicken. There’s also an endless supply of fish and chips.
Families seem to be the main the target of this picnic brunch, because there’s a lot of space for children to run around. There’s a whole station dedicated just to them with their own buffet. So if kids are not your thing, stay away.
The Candy Land dessert station was a bit underwhelming, though, with the man behind the counter serving ice cream like it’s from the world’s last reserve.
But overall, this Picnic Brunch is definitely worth a try. Just being outside in the beautiful setting will bring out the best in you, with or without screaming children.
Take note: Blades restaurant at Al Badia by InterContinental Dubai Festival City is having a Christmas Eve party, called Jazz on the Lawn, starting at 8pm, on December 24. Packages start at Dh295.
