Aryan Vaid excited to be back on TV

Aryan Vaid is excited about his new TV role in the show Udaan, and the model-actor says he is glad that the character bears a resemblanc­e to Shah Rukh Khan’s character in Chak De! India.

Vaid will be playing coach Kabir on the Colors show. “Kabir’s character is very strong and enigmatic and bears resemblanc­e to Shah Rukh Khan’s character in Chak De! India. He will coach and mentor Chakor [the female protagonis­t], and put her under intense training to make her a better athlete,” Vaid said.

“I am doing a fiction show after a long time and I am very excited to be portraying such a strong character on screen,” he added.

Udaan narrates the story of Chakor, who fought to be released from bonded labour and for the right to an education. The show recently jumped 10 years into the future to showcase a more determined Chakor fighting to free her family as well. With the storyline of the show moving forward, Chakor will get a new coach, who will shape her career as an athlete.

After making a name in the modelling world, Vaid featured in slew of films such as Veer and Diary Of A Butterfly. He also had a stint on television when he participat­ed in reality show Bigg Boss. Vaid also acted as Duryodhan in Ekta Kapoor’s mythologic­al series Kahaani Hamaaray Mahaabhaar­at Ki.
