WILLIAM ‘HAJI’ WILLIAMSON
The Englishman who had lived for many years in the Middle East had a good reputation among the shaikhs of the Gulf region, and in 1936 was considered the best candidate to become guide and interpreter for the first PDTC survey of Abu Dhabi. During the later years of the 1930s, he assisted PDTC in negotiating for oil concessions with local shaikhs.
