Mohammad Bin Zayed joins thousands of residents in watching Union Fortress military demonstration
The UAE Armed Forces put on a scintillating live show of their tactical capabilities in front of thousands of spectators at the Abu Dhabi Corniche yesterday. His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, along with shaikhs and senior officials watched the demonstration ‘Union Fortress’, which showed the skills of multiple wings of the UAE Armed Forces, including the Presidential Guard ground force, Joint Aviation Command, UAE Navy, UAE Air Force, Air Defence and Army.
The UAE Armed Forces are the bulwark of the nation and are always ready to defend the UAE’s interests with their strong determination and advanced equipment, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, tweeted yesterday on the occasion of the Hosn Al Ittihad (Union Fortress) military demonstration.
In a series of tweets, Shaikh Mohammad said: “Our armed forces have always proved their extraordinary capabilities in performing their tasks and they gained the respect of the world for their high professionalism and sublime values. The armed forces’ performance, stances and heroic role in battlefields will go down the UAE history.
“I personally salute each member of the armed forces and am proud of their honourable stands. I ask the mercy of Allah Almighty to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the sake of their country.”
Shaikh Mohammad attended the drill involving all branches of the UAE Armed Forces, at Abu Dhabi Corniche yesterday.
A large crowd of Emiratis and residents were left spellbound by a simulation of a sophisticated seaborne hostage rescue that involved helicopters, fighter jets and tactical submarines.
