Opposition can help rein in Iran influence

Syria’s

opposition is counting on the new Trump administration to play a “positive” role to end the country’s six-year war, an official said.

The High Negotiating Committee (HNC), the main opposition group at UNsponsored talks in Geneva, said it can help rein in Iran’s influence in the conflict. Speaking in Geneva, HNC delegation chief Nasr Al Hariri said everyone is waiting for the new US administration of President Donald Trump to engage. (AFP)
