Court orders closure of Sindh liquor shops

-

The

Sindh High Court yesterday ordered all liquor shops shut for a month and asked the government to come up with a plan to regularise its sale in the southern province.

The Sindh High Court (SHC) in Karachi issued the directive while hearing a petition filed by the ruling PMLN party’s minority lawmaker Ramesh Kumar Vankwani.

The sale of liquor is banned in Pakistan but some shops operate in Sindh for minorities. However, Vankwani said liquor was being wrongfully sold to all. (Agencies)
