1,809 of 3,320 food complaints prove correct

Municipality received 3,320 complaints against food outlets last year, but only 1,809 reports were correct, Sultan Ali Al Tahir, Head of Food Inspection Section in the municipality’s Food Safety Department, said in a statement yesterday.

Of the 3,320 complaints received by the department during the past year, 1,511 messages proved to be incorrect. Al Tahir said 1,287 fines and 522 warnings were issued against the establishments in cases of complaints that were proved correct. (Staff Report)
