Affordable Islamic art in Dubai from today

Works on display till Saturday will cost Dh367 to Dh73,000

An art exhibition in Dubai this week will feature affordable Islamic artworks from across the Muslim world.

From today to Saturday in World Art Dubai, 3,000 artworks will be on display. Much of it will cost from Dh367 to Dh73,000.

New this year is Exhibition Islam, which is dedicated to works inspired by the Middle Eastern cultural traditions.

The exhibition will also host creative learning workshops, an award ceremony, live painting sessions, and wall art costing Dh3,000 or less. More than 140 internatio­nal artists and galleries will be present.

Last year, close to 10,000 people showed up at the art fair, which is taking place for the third time.

Wide range

The wide range of art on sale and display ranges from paintings to prints, photograph­y, sculpture, installati­ons, mixed media and new media.

The event is aimed at both amateur collectors and profession­als.

World Art Dubai will take

place at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Opening times are 6-9pm today, and 2-9pm on April 13-15.

Tickets can be bought online for Dh15, or purchased onsite for Dh20.
