Dubai to get 11 new bus routes from April 15

Dubai’s public bus network will expand with 11 new routes from April 15, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) said yesterday.

Of the 11 new routes, 10 will be metro feeder services, while 13 existing routes will be redrawn to accommodat­e more areas.

Mohammad Abdullah Al Ali, Director of Planning and Business Developmen­t, at RTA’s Public Transport Agency, said that the launch new routes aims to meet the needs of public transport riders. The new routes cover different areas of Dubai reaching destinatio­ns that see high traffic as well as areas that were not covered earlier.

Apart from the new routes 13 routes will be upgraded. Changes will also be made in the service frequency on some routes.

Route 7 will run every 20 minutes during peak times and Route 365 will run every eight minutes. The frequency of Route 366 will also be increase from 10 minutes to 8 minutes in the evening peak times.
