In Group A, Public Prosecution jumped to the top while Al Jawareh are in second, while this week’s win took Labeel to the top of Group B even as Yas continued their chase in second. Samba occupied first place in Group C followed by Al Wasl, while Victory powered their way to the summit in Group D, followed by Sao Paulo.

MRMR go top

There are 16 teams participating in the qualifiers, of which only the top two from each group will advance to the main tournament that is scheduled to be held at the NAS Sports Complex from the end of May. The eight qualifiers will be joined by last year’s four semi-finalists in the 12-team competition.

Meanwhile, MRMR jumped to the top of the standings with a hardfought 3-2 win over Spider in the volleyball competition. Hazem too did well to win with an identical 3-2 margin against Za’abeel to stand in second position and with a chance to qualify for the next stages. Only the first fourplaced teams will qualify to the main competition starting at the end of May.
