Woman in jail for promoting sex trade on app

saleswoman, who created a profile on a dating app and promoted sex after she became jobless and needed money to fly back home, has been jailed for seven months.

The 24-year-old Moroccan woman walked into a police station on her own and admitted that she had been staying illegally in Dubai and working as a prostitute before she was detained in March.

The Dubai Court of First Instance convicted the 24-year-old defendant of promoting and working in sex trade. (Staff Report)
