Pakistan Association Dubai organises free medical camp
Honouring the workforce of the UAE, the Medical Wing of Pakistan Association Dubai in association with the Community Development Authority (CDA) and the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) organised a free medical camp on Friday.
The camp was held to celebrate Labour Day 2017, as part of the CDA’s ‘Honour Labour’ initiative in line with the Year of Giving initiative.
The objective of the event was to honour the hardworking workforce of the UAE, said chief guest of the event Omar Al Muthanna, chief executive officer of CDA.
“Pakistan Association Dubai always performs higher than our expectations whenever it comes to community and social events,” said Al Muthanna.
Dr Laila Al Marzouqi, director of Health Regulation and Dubai Medical Tourism Project at the DHA, also appreciated the efforts of the Medical Wing (PAD) and ensured continuous support of the CDA and the DHA.
“I am pleased and honoured to have come here. I am astonished to witness the amazing effort put in by the Medical Wing (PAD) and pray they continue with the same spirit to uplift lives of everyone who they reach out to,” said Dr Al Marzouqi.
The camp was organised on the premises of Seville Products LLC (IFFCO Group) at Dubai Investment Park.
A number of hospitals offered their free services at the camp including Dubai Hospital, American Hospital, Mediclinic City Hospital, NMC Dubai, City Centre Clinic, Northwest Clinic, Symbiosis Medical Centre, Zia Medical Centre, American Wellness and Life Pharmacy.
Q&A sessions
Attended by a diverse group of people, the programme included health check-ups, consultations, awareness talks, Q&A sessions and gifts for participants, whereas five participants also won Umrah trips jointly sponsored by an anonymous philanthropist and Al Hashmi Travels.
Participants benefited from consultations with doctors from various specialities including Endocrinology, Orthopaedic, Cardiology, Psychology, Physiotherapy and Family Medicine. Lectures covered healthy lifestyle, diabetes and hypertension prevention, hand and oral hygiene and smoking cessation.
“The Medical Wing will continue to organise such events for the community and always stay true to our core values of serving the humanity,” said Dr Nighat Aftab, president, PAD Medical Wing.
Dr Zia Ul Hassan, president of PAD, said: “We always ensure that the Medical Wing of PAD takes such initiatives which compliment efforts being taken by the Government of the UAE, especially by the CDA and DHA.”
